Her leadership style is hands-on. She personally vets the drivers, sets the standard for how every passenger is greeted at the door, and answers the phone when families call with questions other companies are too busy to take.
Doris carries forward the legacy of Late Tolu Ogunmakin, the founder of Essential Plus, whose vision continues to shape every decision the company makes. Together, their values — diligence, dignity, and care — are the foundation Essential Plus is built on.

Essential Plus Medical Transportation began with a simple, stubborn idea from Late Tolu Ogunmakin: that everyone — especially the elderly, the medically fragile, and people who depend on others to get where they need to go — deserves a ride that is safe, reliable, and treated with dignity.
Tolu founded the company with a clear conviction that transportation isn't just logistics — it's care in motion. Every vehicle inspected. Every driver trained and background-checked. Every phone call answered like the person on the other end is family. That standard became the company's promise: where caring is essential.
Though Tolu is no longer with us, that vision is the foundation Essential Plus is built on. Today, alongside CEO Doris Uche, the team carries it forward — 24/7 dispatch, ADA-accessible vans, medical and non-medical trips, and the same warm, hands-on care Tolu insisted on from day one.
